Jacob Trossman is a very special boy affected with Pelizaeus-Merzbacher Disease (PMD), a rare myelin disorder in the same family of diseases as Multiple Sclerosis, Adrenal Leukodystrophy (the disease made famous by the movie Lorenzo’s Oil) and Canavan’s Disease.
Although Jacob cannot walk, speak or play by himself, he understands everything. He has an enormous smile and infectious laugh that makes people want to keep him laughing. He has a mischievous sense of humor and loves silly sounds and funny jokes. His favorite activity is having mom and dad wheel him around the house in search of his furry friend, Spot, one of our cats.
